Speakers
Dr. Maggie Ateia
Licensed clinical psychologist
Dr. Maggie Ateia is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in relationship/couples therapy. Dr. Ateia received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from USC, her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from The California School of Professional Psychology, completed an externship with Dr. Sue Johnson, the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy, and has been working in private practice for over 17 years. She is currently the clinical director of a training program for therapists in Pasadena and is continuing to build her private practice by expanding to an Orange County office as well as maintaining an office in Pasadena. Dr. Ateia mostly works with couples and college/graduate students. She is passionate about helping people create deeper connections with one another through developing stronger communication skills and understanding attachment styles. Makar Naguib
Lead Coach, Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Makar Naguib is a couple and life coach, serving couples and individuals across the globe. He has been working with these groups for over 15 years, and delivers more than 75 lectures each year. Makar's work is focused on supporting healthy conflict management, forgiveness, sexual intimacy, and spirituality. Makar earned a Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling, Nyack College, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Simon Business School, University of Rochester. Dr. Christina Salama
Licensed Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist
Dr. Christina Salama is a dually licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Psychologist with experience in counseling since 2010. Christina currently works for the County of Orange as a bilingual Spanish-speaking psychologist, specializing in assessment and testing of children and adolescents. Christina was hand selected as a Counselor for the Debra Fileta Counselor's network which just launched in July 2022 where she works with motivated Christian clientele across the US. Christina also has a private practice specializing in Coptic individuals and families. Christina utilizes an integration of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy. In addition to managing anxiety, depression, and related mental health concerns, she helps families navigate a range of issues including learning boundaries, understanding biculturalism, building trust, and improving parent-child relationships. She is also part of the group that launched the very first Coptic Orthodox Premarital Encounter (COPE) which allows premarital couples a unique opportunity to learn from real life marriages.

Fr. Paul Baky Mikhail
Priest, Marriage & Family Therapist
Fr. Paul Baky Mikhail earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Science from Cairo University in 1997. In December 2014, he completed a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Fr Paul has great passion to serve, enrich, support and guide families through the challenges they endure. He has also focused on supporting the premarital couples as they begin this important phase of life. Moreover, Fr. Paul Is passionate about serving the next generation of kids and youth to hand over the baton of the Coptic Orthodox Church traditions & treasures to them. In January 2019, His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion assigned Fr. Paul to serve the new church Saint Monica in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa Area. In October 2020, God blessed Saint Monica Church with a permanent building in the city of Costa Mesa, where Fr. Paul is serving now. Fr. Paul asks you for your prayers, that God may Grant him to start as St. Arsanious proclaimed, "Give me O Lord, to start".
Dr. Nabil Soliman
Psychiatrist
Dr. Nabil Soliman is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. He graduated from Cairo Medical School in 1974. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1979 where he completed a residency in Adult Psychiatry and Neurology from the University of California San Francisco. Nabil furthered his education by pursuing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Neurology from Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He has given hundreds of talks in different Coptic Churches in the U.S., Canada, and Egypt for the past 30 years in the topics of Christian marriage and Christian parenting. He is a featured guest at Logos, C-SAT, G.R.A.C.E. and Agaby TV channels. Nabil's first book, "Christ and the Christian" was recently released in Arabic!

Who should attend the seminar?
The marital seminar is open to all married, engaged, and seriously dating couples.
What is the topic?
This year’s seminar topic is “Pillow Talk: An Honest Discussion About Intimacy in Your Marriage.” The talks will cover common sexual struggles, especially focusing on sexual shame and its manifestations.
Who are the speakers?
The seminar features an expert group of Coptic psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists with years of experience in their fields. The speakers include Dr. Maggie Ateia, and Makar Naguib. We are also blessed with Fr. Boulos Baky, Dr. Nabil Soliman, and Dr. Christina Salama as our panelists and discussion group leaders. You can read more about each of them here.

Will I get a chance to ask questions?
Absolutely! After each talk there will be time reserved for Q&A. At the end of the schedule, you can submit questions to our panel of experts (verbally or anonymously). If we run out of time during Q&A or panel discussion, we will aim to discuss any unanswered questions in future CLIC meetings. For even more private questions, there will be small group discussions as well as limited 1-1 counseling sessions with the experts.
Will there be a livestream option?
Unfortunately, due the interactive and private nature of the discussion, we will not support live-streaming this event. However, we plan to upload recordings of all talks to our website here within 30 days of the event.

Will there be food provided?
Yes! Light breakfast and a delicious catered lunch will be provided. Vegetarian options will be included. Coffee will be available throughout the day.
Do I need to register?
Absolutely! We require registration for this event in order to plan for the food, facilities, and childcare. As such, we CANNOT accept any walk-ins if you have not registered for the event online.
How do I register?

Can I bring my children?
Yes, you can bring children up to 12 years old. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children older than 12 years old. You must register and pay for any children who will require childcare.
Will my child be able to nap?
Yes, but please provide a labeled cot or play pen for your child to sleep in.
Where is the seminar?
The seminar is located at the Church of the Nazarene at 5253 East Los Coyotes Diagonal, Long Beach, California.
Where can I park?
There is a free parking lot on East Los Coyotes Diagonal. Should the lot fill up and you need to park on the street, we kindly ask that you park on the side of the street adjacent to the facility in order to be respectful to the neighbors. The entrance to the facility is on Rutgers Ave.
